 Is it almost the end for NLUA, yet again?

After the CREBA deluge of paid ads last Monday against the National Land Use Act, suddenly 3 Senators expressed interest to interpellate last Monday -- Drilon, Villar and Marcos. Yesterday, Senator Enrile joined the fray. He and Senator Marcos said they were not yet ready to give their individual amendments. Senator Villarwas absent. Only Senator Drilon finished giving his amendments.

 PhilDHRRA Luzon is looking for qualified applicants for full time, project-based position as Research and Advocacy Officer. He/She will be responsible for assisting the Regional Coordinator in implementing projects with focus on natural resources management and rights-based approach to development.

In 2009, the country first experienced the emergence of typhoons like no other. Typhoon Ondoy’s downpour greatly distressed the whole country due to the effects of global warming. Different infrastructures, such as those found along the Marikina River, hampered the flow of water and significantly damaged the life and property of the community. Clearly, the challenges to land use and management are complementary to the rising concern on climate change.
