Fr. Dinter receives recognition from SVD
Manila--PhilDHRRA congratulates Fr. Ewald Dinter ,SVD for winning the Saint Joseph Freinademtz Award for best exemplifying "prophetic dialogue and inculturation on his mission contribution, following the charism of the SVD and its founding generations."
Fr. Dinter has devoted over 40 years of his life serving and helping the marginalized communities in Oriental Mindoro, especially the Mangyan community. He is the current Executive Director of Mangyan Mission, which is committed to "enhancing awareness and strengthening capabilities of Mangyans into self-directing and viable People's Organization and communities."
The award is given by Societas Verbi Divini (SVD or Society of the Divine World) on 29 January 2010 (Feast of Saint Joseph Freinademetz) at the Father Peter Yang Hall, Saint Jude Catholic School, Manila in celebration of SVD's "100 years of missionary presence" in the country.
SVD, an international congregation of Catholic priests and brother, in partnership with Saint Jude Catholic School in Manila, launches its SVD Mission Awards to recognize Catholic and non-Catholic individuals, groups, and, institutions that greatly conrtibuted to fulffilling SVD's mission in the country. There are eight (8) award categories recognizing three (3) SVD Missionaries, a foundation, an individual, a parish church, a group of cathecists, and, a hospital.
Mangyan Mission is a member of PhilDHRRA-Luzon.
